BIOGRAPHY

Valentin Kapitany was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1998. He moved to Glasgow in 2015 where he began an undergraduate Bachelor’s degree in physics at the University of Glasgow. He graduated with a first-class honours in July 2019 and is currently a member of the Extreme Light research group at University of Glasgow where he is working as a Research Assistant. He completed his PhD (May 2023) in the use of AI for ill-posed inverse problems in computational imaging and detection. His work focuses on fluorescence lifetime imaging tasks and spatial scene reconstruction from temporal data.
