I

you
can

something
interesting

I am Professor of Experimental Physics in the Institute for Gravitational Research at the University of Glasgow (UK). My primary research focus is the detection of gravitational waves kilometer-scale laser interferometry, such as GEO600, Virgo or LIGO. These absoluetly magnificant instruments allow us to scan the Universe for signals from the most violent astronomical events, such as the collision of black holes and neutron stars, supernovae or even the aftermaths of the Big Bang. I recently received funding from the European Research Council to build over the next 5 years a proof of principle experiment of a speedmeter. As a sideline I also started research in energy related topics, especially in smart grid applications. For more details please click on the tiles on the left hand side. HAVE FUN !! |
