Previous appointments at Glasgow University and Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory, together with short term appointments at CERN (Geneva), Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (Stanford University) and University of California at Berkeley. M. A. [Cambridge (mathematics)]; Ph. D. [Cambridge (theoretical physics research at Cambridge and Birmingham Universities)]. F. R. S. E.; F. R. A. S.

Research interests

My research interests are currently: -1- Cosmology; observable effects of primordial quantum perturbations of the metric such as graviton production; effects of hypothesized scalar fields. My cosmology research is done mainly in collaboration with members of the Instituto Superior Tecnico,Lisbon. -2-Particle physics research in collaboration with members of the Glasgow particle theory group; largely on the CP violation and the hypothesized scalar fields of particle physics and their effects on the generation of baryons in the development of the early universe.
