If you cannot figure out how to check the vacuum on the tagger, this section
will help you more. On the two pumping-devices, described in "Evacuating the Tagger", there are several meters to check the vacuum. On the
pumping device near to the beamline-valve, there is an
ammeter which is the most reliable to decide wether you can open the
beamline-valve. But there exists also a small instrument with a analogue
scale. Switch it on by turning the right button clockwise and select with
the left button input number 1.
The pumping devices on the end of the tagger also have
vacuum guages. There is a small white box with two orange buttons and
a LED-display. Hold down the on-button until the display turns on. Read the
value and compare it with the gauging list, that is glued ontop of the box.
There you find the pressure corresponding to the value, that you got from
the display.
When you leave the tagger area, you see at the red iron-setup, where the
beamline
is mounted on, meter in a orange plastic-box with a red LED-display that is
always on. Follow also the instructions written on this instrument, before
opening the beamline-valve.
