Status: Not recently tested but expected to be ok. JCM 15/1/02 The MAMI-operators are usually in the MAMI-control-room xt 22937. Sometimes they are working on their own tasks some distance away and may take some time to answer the phone! They are responsible for beam-adjustments, beam-polarization, quality and beam-current. To change the beam-current, phone them, and ask for the current to be increased or decreased. CHECK WHAT THEY ARE DOING ON THE FARADAY CUP OR TAGGER 'OR16' scalers. Their control is very non linear, and you have to request that they increase very slowly when you get near what you want. Even so they often overshoot!
