Personal Biography
I have been in Glasgow since 1972 having previously worked in Cambridge
University, UK Atomic Energy Authority Harwell, University College London,
Niels Bohr Institute Copenhagen and CERN.
I am currently collaborating with physicists at Niels Bohr Institute
Copenhagen, ITEP Moscow and Institute of Physics Tbilisi. I am
on the organising committee of the
Scottish Universities
Summer School on 'Neutrino Physics' in 2006.
Research interests
My research interests are mainly in the phenomenology of the
electroweak interactions and physics beyond the Standard Model.
Here are some current topics of interest.
- The quark-lepton mass problem.
- The mass of the Higgs particle.
- Anti-grand unification model and the multiple point
principle.
- Dark energy and dark matter.
Current teaching
- Mathematical Techniques - P2X
- Big Bang II - Excos 2X
- Introduction - Excos 1X and 1Y
- Quantum Mechanics and Atomic Systems (M) - P4H
In addition I am Class Head for Exploring the Cosmos 1X and 1Y
and
member of the West of Scotland Physics Education Group.
