I have been in Glasgow since April 2000, having previously worked in Wuppertal, where I studied Mathematics and Physics and completed my Dr. rer. nat. (PhD.), Southampton and Humboldt University Berlin, where I obtained my "Habilitation". (The monograph can be found here). I have been awarded a DFG Heisenberg Fellowhip and a PPARC Advanced Fellowship, before becoming Lecturer in Glasgow. I am a member of the UKQCD collaboration and of the Quarkonium Working Group.

I am working in the fields of Elementary Particle Physics, Hadron Physics and Computational Physics. In particular I devote most of my time to investigating properties of Quantum Chromo Dynamics (QCD), the theory of strong interactions by numerical simulation on supercomputers, using Lattice Gauge Theory methods. At present I am most interested in
Does it exist? Well, I am interested in cooking and road cycling (but suffer considerably under the Glasgow weather) as well as in history, philosophy and other pretentious matters. I enjoy listening to "music" and entertaining our two children (well.. hmm.. sometimes). I also have a beautiful girl friend.
