___________Anna T. O'Neil's page___________

This is a picture of me outside the Peace tower in Ottawa, Canada.
(One of the places I was lucky enough to visit on honeymoon)
The picture's pinched off my husband's website -- thanks Toby!

If you want to see more pictures try here
-- although I see the novelity of scanning them all in wore off rapidly!!  ;-)

Welcome to my home page.
I am a PhD student currently in my final year.

I work in the Optics group at the department of Physics & Astronomy, University of Glasgow. I work with optical tweezers, investigating the trapping of metallic particles and the properties of angular momentum of light.

I've just started learning the saxophone. I have a Tenor Sax.  Here's some links to sites I like to look at:

SUB AQUA____________________________________________

I was diving for a while, but need to get back to it.  Other things took over and I intend to continue again soon.  It might have to wait until I've written up though!!

BSAC website.

PADI website. They have a school in Milton Keynes that I'm very tempted to use, I'll have to save up for a while first!  Unfortunately I don't think they have a website yet, I'll keep you updated.

____________________________________________CLIMBING

I've started climbing with my group.
We've been to the wall near Ibrox, not a bad place to learn -- it's good fun!
(If you want their full experience go here -- not for people with modems!  You have been warned!)
My group members have all done a lot of climbing around Scotland, but I have yet to join them on such a trip.
