Upsilon and B physics using the Nonrelativistic QCD action for b quarks

• Calculation of the spectrum of Upsilon states more accurately than before to determine the lattice spacing to 0.5% instead of current 1.5%.

• Calculation of B, B_s and B_c masses accurately for comparison to experiment having fixed the b mass from the Upsilon. These calculations will use the HISQ action (see below) for u/d, s and c quarks.

• Determination of the mass of the b quark to the acccuracy of a few percent. Several methods for doing this are ongoing.

• Calculation of mixing rates and semileptonic decay rates for B and B_s mesons for the determination of CKM elements by comparison to experiment to constrain possible new physics.

Charm and light meson physics using the Highly Improved Staggered Quark action

• Accurate (1-2%) determination of the mass of the c quark and from that the masses of the light quarks, improving on our previous results.

• Calculation of semileptonic D, D_s and K decay rates for accurate comparison to experiment.

• Calculation of electromagnetic decay rates in charmonium.

• (With the MILC collaboration) Making a new generation of ensembles of gluon fields including a more accurate discretisation of the gluon action and sea u, d, s and c quarks using the HISQ action.
