Imaging in the eye: Technologies and clinical applications

This series of biennial meetings provide an informal forum for both scientists and clinicians to present and discuss recent and on-going work on imaging in the eye. Recent developments in the imaging of components within the eye benefit from active involvement of both scientists involved in the development of new imaging and measurement techniques and of clinicians with an interest in appraising and applying these techniques within a clinical setting. Submissions are invited in all areas connected with imaging or the application of imaging in the eye.

These biennial meetings bring together participants from all fields of spectral imaging. Spectral imaging combines conventional imaging with spectroscopy to enable enhanced classification or quantification based on variations in spectral signatures. Spectral imaging is now being developed for a range of applications including medicine, biology, surveillance, remote sensing and industrial inspection. Important issues for spectral imaging are associated with developing instrumentation that can demonstrate the required performance criteria, the development of algorithms for calibration and exploitation of spectral data. Meetings normally take place at IoP, London, or Photonex.
